The Unplanned Trip

[SMOKING IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH]
tl;dr
You do not need to have a lot of money to travel or to have fun or to enjoy. All you need is a similar mindset friends and you can make history.

When the planned trip does not work well or fail how can an unplanned trip succeed??
I am not an expert but I would say it would need "Yes, that looks like a good idea. Let`s go" lol .
The idea to take this trip came in when I was smoking with my friend .It felt like we should just do it like nike. But the main problem was money, so all we had was Rs 5 from me Rs100 from my brother and IRC 50 from my friend. Lack of budget did not stopped us abandon our trip. We googled jhor and asked my friend for direction. Ok, we were headed for the place that we had never gone before and that is a kind of adventure, right ? haha. With only Rs 185 ,  2.25 lt of drinking water and 2 carrots grabbed from the fridge we started our "The Unplanned Trip".

We started our trip from Samakushi, took a public transportation to jhor. At jhor we got off the vehicle and started downhill to the popular jhor waterfall. We had all these visuals of how it was going to look like. Water , clear as crystal falling from a height , striking hard rocks and eroding it day by day. We would take off our clothes and enjoy the cool water all over our body.Taking pictures of the fall. All these imaginary visuals of the waterfall was making us eager to get there in a one huge step. But it is not always rainbows and butterflies, the waterfall was dried and our dreams were crushed like the rocks. The good thing was, we knew how to have fun. So we slept beneath the fall in those white rocks and it felt soft like the cushions on my bed. The only difference was, I could see nature here. Soon the whole sleeping in the rock was getting less adventurous and we decided to look around. We started climbing up of the fall and the view from there was just majestic. All these huge huge hills were touching the sky. We had no idea where climbing even further up would get us but we already knew we were there for adventure. And at the top we found another small waterfall but it was dried too. So nothing to see there too. We again continued our ascend and a small mistake in that path would cost you severe damage to your body. Enjoying our victory we started to smoke. It felt like even smoking was very natural there.
As we were low on budget, we decided to walk to tokha on foot. When we were at tokha there was a pond where little children were bathing. We could not hold ourselves to dive . As soon as we got there we saw that the water was not very clean as expected but healthier than swimming pool`s.
Dived in and started swimming. The funny part about swimming was since we were not wearing any swimming costumes our undergarments slipped every time but we managed to pull that off like a boss. Fearing that we might get late, we dried ourselves and left. Finally we reached home, safe and sound and tired and hungry but we knew we made a history.

Cost break down:
Rs 80 was spend as transportation charge from samakushi to jhor and I had an ID card.
Rs 40 was spend as transportation charge from tokha to samakushi and I had an ID card.
Rs 15 was spend on noodles that we ate on the way
Rs 30 was spend on samosas that we ate after our trip
and the rest of remaining money was spent on smokes

Direction
Take a mini bus from samakushi and it will directly leave u to jhor
or take a micro from samakushi to tokha and you can reach jhor in about 20-30 mins walk.

Conclusion:
Though I had a lot of adventure going out there , this place is perfect to go in only some season. A local guy there told me that 'Shrawan' was the best time to enjoy water fall there.

water was supposed to flow from here

Were these my entreprenuerial signs?

Way back in the olden and the golden days, I guess I was between 8 -13 yrs of age .Franky I do not remember my age . My family used to be a one huge and lovely and caring family , 5 children and 5 adults. In general terms, "Join Family" .
All the 5 children used to attend the same school. Back in those days, I remember that even Rs 10 was a lot. Each of the children were given Rs 10  as our tiffin money and forget about the extra pocket money. I was really bothered with the fact that we were not given extra pocket money as in those TV serials shakalaka boom boom, hello dolly and the list goes on. So what I did was, I told all of my siblings that I would take the responsibility to buy them tiffin so that they did not had to go and buy it themselves.
Each day I used to collect the tiffin money from our parents and then go to the shop and choose only those products which cost less and had more to eat in it.

Biscuits like Gulcose, Buttercracker were cheap and were not pricey as others. So it saved me 2 - 3 Rs from one person , meaning 10-15 Rs each day and that would make Rs 60 -105 a week . It was a win win situation for me. But that regime did not lasted long when they found out about my monopoly.
Since I needed another way to make extra money, I teamed up with my siblings. We had an awesome idea of selling powdered milk wrapped in a paper to our school friends. So we got a handful of powdered milk from the kitchen and then started to wrap those in papers and started doing our math. Guess what? No one bought it.
I remember my next move was lottery but at that time I used to call it chitha. Well I got that idea from my classmate who was making a lot of money selling chitha. Damn that business went down like a Titanic when teachers came to know about it.

So when I was 16, I opened an organisation in the school called "The Pen Pal`s Club". To raise fund for my organization , I took the chitha`s business from the olden days to a whole new level. I took permissions from the school authority and got approved of GAMBLING in the school. I started a very very very huge BINGO tournament. The whole school was in favor of my idea. A lot of students from each class bought bingo tickets.
I freaking do not remember how I persuaded so many children as well as teachers to buy those tickets. Well, anyway I earned a huge huge amount of money from that . I guess between 6-7K deducting after giving away the prizes to the winner.

So I guess life changed after my SLC, then plus 2 . But I still have that blood running inside of me.
But the question is
Were you also like this in your olden and golden days? Were You also an entrepreneur ? Let me know that in the comments.

Intern at Young Innovations (YIPL)

It feels like just yesterday, I joined YIPL as an intern but time passes quickly . It took me a lot of courage to even for applying at YIPL. Why courage?? I was working as a PHP Developer at a dead end company where I saw no whatsoever personal growth. Life started to get freaking monotonous and not very challenging. But still it does not answer why Courage? I had a steady income working there and in country like Nepal where you have to take permission from your family then the society for pursuing your dream I was leaving a job. So my father told me " People are lucky to even have a job that pay`s them less 10k per month and You just left a job that pays more. I know that you are going to be a failure and you will take the whole family down with you too.". He certainly has no idea how much I wanted to learn but not earn and follow  my passion. So I solved the problem YIPL gave for internship. I submitted the problem in PHP and ruby.
I remember the very first day, I was not able to find the YIPL building but I guess luck works in a funny way. I remember the first meeting with Anjesh daii, he was taking a look at an application that I built for earlier company. That was the most intense part because if I could not qualify for the intern I would be totally unemployed and my DAD would be 100 and 10% right. Then there was a very awkward introduction with other interns and now bigyan daii and kriti dd are a part of my startup team. Like I said, luck works in a funny way.
The internship there took me out of my comfort zone and I loved it. I loved that I was growing more that I could imagine. I could easily grasp the new technologies like nodejs and its framework, design patterns, software architect and the list goes on.
YIPL served lunch and I was surprised because the company that I used to work for earlier did not served shit. Ok let`s not be that brutal too, well they did served diuso ko khaja and chiya.I dont drink chiya. After lunch, employees there were playing TT. Was I in heaven?
One thing that I really loved about YIPL is that they treated us ie Interns as part of YIPL. We got chocolates in numerous occasions, got to eat cakes on birthday and all the interns were invited in one of the employee`s weeding. Common man, I  mean who does that? And the answer was , certainly not the company I used to work for.
Goodbye`s are always hard and I never loved them. I had no idea what was I going to do after my intern of 3 mnths. So the only thing on my mind after intern was bag packing and taking a solo trip to some where I would get abundance of nature.
During my intern I met a lot of people that really had left a mark in my life. I learned a lot from these people. One person I will fondly recall is sumit daii. Because of him, I now know how to solve a problem, design pattern, debug an applicaiton and  ..... .

But I do not want to be satisfied, that is my weakness. I am still hungry for success and still will be. I will put all the ideas i got from intern into my startup and if it fails I will start a new one and never give up.
I want to quote my favorite quote from Muhamad Ali .
When do u start counting?
"I do not count my sit-ups,
I only start counting when it starts hurting,

When I feel the pain, that`s when I start counting,
cause that`s when it really counts. "

Outing at Kalla Bari

What can be more fun way to spend some quiet and relaxing time after playing futsal(indoor football) during saturday? Obviously, SPA and other cash sucking stuffs. But what if you are on a budget?? I have a solution to that. Taking the nearest most possible trip to village like area.
Me with 6 other guys decided to take a short trip to Kalla Bari to try out different delicacies.
Direction: Behind White Gumba.
Pro tip: If you are going there on a bike of less than 125cc it will be hard to carry a passenger with you.Half of the road is just a steep uphill ride.

Half and hour pleasant ride from Bagbazaar we reached there to find ourselves in awe. Though urbanization is not a good thing , but for a while it felt worth it after looking at Kathmandu valley from the top of Kalla Bari. Majestic hills surrounding  Kathmandu Valley and the bottom of the valley is just concrete building, the same thing I saw during my  MT Everest Flight. Though city was not quiet far form here I wondered why is this place still not touched by the city life?People were still living in houses made of mud and straw. We made our ascend to top of Kalla Bari by climbing 50 something stairs. As most of us were long time smokers, we were out of breath when we reached the top.At top we decided to travel no further and end our hunger.
The house looked something like this.
The house where we killed our hunger :D

We were greeted their by a lady(you can see here in the picture). She then offered us to choose where to place mattress for us.As you can see in the picture, we had options to stay in the beranda in the top or we could sit just outside basking the sun. We ordered 2 plates of buff curry, potato curry, sukuti, spicy noodles and beaten rice and 8 lt or rice milk(chyang). For all those the total was just Rs 1900 plus we had smoke some cigarettes making the total Rs 2000. This place was cheaper and made tastier food than our Goldhunga visit.
Pro tip. DONT DRING AND DRIVE. YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE AS WELL AS OTHER`S IN RISK.BE RESPONSIBLE AND TAKE CARE.
 SMOKING IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH.

Outing at Goldhunga

Spoiler Alert!!! It was again AWESOME. I tend to use this word more often that I realize.

After a very long and tired weekdays, me and my friends made a plan to go and relax to a place not far from the heart of Kathmandu. We went there for a reason. A friend of mine had heard about  this place that they serve delicious "poleko aanda" (basically it is an roasted egg with its shell still intact).
Hungry???? haha
Ok lets talk about the direction now. We started off from sorukhutte. Then went straight to Balaju chowk. Then headed to Goldhunga.
You can also reach there by micro. You will have to wait for a micro that will take you directly to Goldhunga.
or else you can take a cab but that will cost you a lot.

If you are going there on a bike then remember to pack a shade and a mask to cover your face. Because of heavy traffic and poor condition of sidewalk, chances are that you will be breathing dust most of the time during the ride.

Now comes the best part. After reaching there it was peace and quiet. It felt like the city life have not yet touched this part of Kathmandu. The hotel was not like any other fancy restaurants you get to see in Kathmandu. It was a normal looking hotel with huge empty spaces where you get the freedom of choosing where you want to sit and enjoy unless that space is already taken.Plus, if you do not like to stay in a grass field you can also choose to sit inside in tables.Well we are all nature loving junkies, so we decided to stay outdoors. For staying outdoors you get a mattress weaved with hay, which is very traditional and cool.It gives you the sense of Newari culture and traditions. To be honest, it is not a very good idea to stay in such mattress for a long time.Don`t believe me? Try it for yourself.
So if you look around there you wont see a lot of houses but a few and you can also see the majestic hill ,Nagarjun, behind you. So we placed our orders and had it delivered to us in no time. The service seemed nice. Finally we all got to taste the "poleko aanda". It was no different than the one we make at home, but I guess the company of friends and the nature just made it delicious.Hungry?? Wait for it...
Now the second round. Typical Newari baji set which included, mashed spicy potato, chwayla(smoked spicy meat), bazi(beaten rice), aachar(pickel) and we also ordered chyang(rice milk). The baji set was really what you should try even if you are newari and have eaten the dish before. It was spicy it was absolutely what you need when you drink chyang. It was really great.

Now the third course. Meat lovers get ready. They serve very tasty smoked meat believe me.

Now the fourth course. We ordered Bara as some of our friends, not Newari, had not yet tasted that dish.I will say it again, it was great. The minced meat inside it made it more tasty. Plus the chyang made it even more delightful. You get the picture right? Hungry??

We ordered chyan 3 times and most of us were drunk except those who were driving. Remember Dont drink and drive. Do not put your life and others in a risk. Please be very carefull and mature about this.

Hungry?? Well lets talk about business now. All those dishes at a minimum cost of Rs 2100.

So it was getting dark and my friends being aware of getting caught by traffic police for DUI choose to leave as soon as possible. Then we headed home but one of our friend who had the responsibility of driving and who drank chyang, accidentally drove his scooter in a hole in the road. Seriously there was a hole in the road. Sometimes I wonder what does the goverment do about our road tax.No serious injury reported and we headed home all safe and sound.
